What benefits can you access?

Home loans, rent and other everyday living expenses
You could make big tax savings by salary packaging home loan payments, rent, bills, groceries and even credit card and other loan repayments. You’re entitled to up to $15,900 of these benefits, tax-free, every Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) year (1 April - 31 March)**.

Meal entertainment
You can salary package up to $2,650 each FBT year to pay for meals and entertainment – for yourself, family and friends – from your before-tax income***.

Novated leasing
You could drive the car you love and make big tax savings, especially on certain electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles^^.
Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs)
You may be eligible to salary package work‑related portable electronic devices, such as a smartwatch, mobile phone, wireless headphones or tablet, provided they are primarily used for work purposes (greater than 50%).
Computer software
If you purchase eligible work‑related software for your computer, you may be able to salary package the cost.
Work-related expenses
You may be able to salary package a range of work‑related expenses that are incurred as part of performing your role.
Membership fees to professional associations
You may be able to salary package membership fees for eligible professional associations, including union fees.
Trade magazine and newspaper subscriptions
You may be able to salary package the cost of eligible work‑related magazines or newspaper subscriptions.
Uniforms and protective clothing
You may be able to salary package work‑required clothing such as compulsory uniforms, protective gear or occupation‑specific items (e.g. medical scrubs or protective shoes).
Airport lounge membership
You may be able to salary package the cost of an airline lounge membership where it meets salary packaging requirements.
Disability / income protection insurance
If you hold disability or income protection insurance, you may be able to salary package the cost of this cover.
Self-education expenses
Studying to build skills relevant to your current role? You may be able to salary package eligible work‑related education expenses.
Taxi travel to and from work
You may be able to salary package taxi travel to and from work
Financial and taxation advice
If you use a financial planner or accountant, you may be able to salary package eligible advisory fees.
Financial counselling fees
You may be able to salary package eligible financial counselling fees.
Relocation expenses
Depending on your employer’s salary packaging policy and ATO rules, you may be able to salary package eligible relocation costs associated with a work‑related move.
Remote area benefits
If you live and work in a remote area, you may be able to salary package certain eligible costs.
Home office expenses
You may be able to salary package certain home office expenses required for work purposes, including office furniture, stationery or monitors.
Car parking
If you drive to work, you could be eligible to salary package your car parking costs at an approved UPark car park (Adelaide CBD only)#.
Workplace giving
Add the workplace giving benefit to make regular donations to one of the 12 charities of choice, directly from your pre-tax salary.
